I bought the 1.5TB Drive(model ST31500341AS) 6 days ago, it worked great for 4 days and on the 5th day it suddenly disappeared from windows and bios(both from explorer and Computer Administration). It's was set up as a secondary storage drive.
If i reboot the computer after it has disappeared, the boot hangs and the 1.5TB Drive makes loud clicking sounds once per second, 11 clicks each time. I don't know if it will help leaving it to boot, because i shut it down and disconnect the 1.5TB Drive to be able to start up normally.
I was able to get it to work again after a short while, but it disappeared after an hour or so. I did however see that all my data was still intact at that time.
Anyone have the same problems or even better, a solution?

Managed to bypass the boot-lockup by resetting while the 1.5tb drive goes into clicking mode. This way the clicking stops just as the bios starts up. However i can't access the disk through Windows at all. In Computer Administration the Disk stands as unknown and i am not able to Initialise it as it gives a I/O unit error. It also failes all tests in Seagate DiscWizard.
Tried updating the Firmware on a bootable cd, didn't work. Don't think that the update were completed. Kept saying somthing about an error 63!

So, i received a mail from Seagate Support with the new firmware, which is completely useless considering that i can't even boot up with the 1.5Tb drive connected. What to do...?
Next time try reading the instructions.

I did, but oddly enough, it mentions nothing about the drive working perfectly for a few days and then disappearing with the end result being unable to boot. So next time, try to read the entire post before making random trolling.
