Hi, I'm a newbie, so if this question sounds simple, I apologize in advance...
I have a 2008 iMac core 2 duo computer. The HD has failed, and it's out of warrantee. I've found several mac repair places here in Los Angeles, that will replace the HD. One repairman wants to put in a ST31000525SV model HD for $200 parts & labor. I looked up on the web, and several individuals have stated that this HD is used primarily for a DVR or other video surveillance purposes, AND not for desktop use.
Can anyone out there corroborate this? And should I not use this HD for my imac computer.
