Is there any way to disable the APM Setting permanently to stop the head parking and th chirping ?
Disabling APM solves the problem but with every cold boot the settings reset back to APM enabled.
I´ve tried CrystalDisk, hdat and Hitachi Feature Tools.
Maybe a firmware ?

I know about startup tools like these but that can´t be the solution for a new drive. Why is APM enabled in the first place ? It´s a Notebook Feature to prevent damage caused by shocks and save some battery...pretty useless on a 3,5" performance drive.
The noise is so annoying, so pleasy seagate release a firmware without APM or give us a possibility to disable it permanently without 3rd party apps.

I don´t think so. I thought SSDs have LPM not APM ?!
LPM saves some milliwatts if enabled, thats all.

Yes, I want to disable that sh*t too! My system freezes for some miliseconds when it parks the heads, thats annoying me so much as the sound of its parking.

I have a two ST2000DM001 HDs and the chirping noise due to the APM/AAM issue from time to time are more than annoying. Please fix this ASAP, Seagate.
