I have two Seagate Barracuda 1.5 TB drives. One failed without warning under Windows 7 64 and I had to reinstall my OS, losing all data on the drive.
After reinstallation, Windows alerts the drive is about to fail and I should perform a backup. I did so, then removed the drive to return it to my supplier (Esquire Technologies in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa), as the drive is still covered by warranty.
However, while extracting the drive, the connector pins were bent and the thin plastic mouldings next to the pins snapped. As a result, Esquire will not accept the drive, saying my Seagate warranty is now void. They insist you will not replace it due to the damage, albeit that the drive's failure is unrelated to said damage.
Please state whether or not this is indeed your position. If so, is it possible to have the damaged components repaired or replaced, such that you will consider the warranty valid?

I can't imagine anybody but teh factory answering this question. Do they look at this forum?

Well I can't contact the factory, Seagate's form to contact support is broken. It asks me to enter my product brand, but then the product type and product name fields are greyed out, so the form can't be completed. Hopeless.

What operating system and browser are you using?
Could you please try it with a different browser?
