SATA 300 PCIe Adapter Card Not Recognized

SeaGate-Maxtor SATA 300 PCIe Adapter Card Not Recognized

I have Win7 ULT x86 installed on a Intel based Asus P5K-Deluxe MoBo with a Intel 2.66 Ghz
Processor(Intel Core2Duo Cpu E6750) with 4Gb Ram and Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT Vid Card in a
ANTEC P-180 Case.
I installed a SATA 300 PCIe Adapter Card(it has two internal SATA connectors, two External
Sata connectors and one INTERNAL EIDE connector) in the small PCIe slot towards the top
of the MoBo near the CPU and plugged two Internal SATA drives and they aren't being recognized
by the O/S..I have used all the mobo's ports for hard drives..I was using the EIDE CABLE for
the optical drives, but I got a HP SATA DVD Drive, I still use one EIDE Port for one DVD Drive
but I had a Maxtor Sata 300 pcie card that I figured I would use to move two of the internal
sata hard drives to the pcie card. So I could free up two extra sata ports,,,but the problem
is the system is not recognizing the sata hard drives on the PCIe card..I can't seem to see
the PCIe card's ports in device manager..As far as the drivers are concerned I am not to
familar with how to install them..I have a folder that I have made with the drivers that came
with the card..but there are no .exe files only a amd folder and a i386 folder with .sys .cat
and .inf files..I have made a floppy with the files that the install .txt file said too..But
I am not sure how or when to use this floppy or if I am to use it at all...A little tutorial
from someone of your Knowledge would surely help me...I really need to access these sata drives
and still be able to use my sata dvd drive...THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY..WAITING FOR A USEFUL RESPONSE

Re: SATA 300 PCIe Adapter Card Not Recognized

Is one of these going to be the bootable drive?
If so, when you boot up to the OS install CD/DVD, watch the screen for the opportunity to press F6.  Then you insert the floppy with the drivers and load them.  Then continue with the OS install.

If not, please clarify the bootable situation.

Give a hoot. Backup your data on a second storage media.

Re: SATA 300 PCIe Adapter Card Not Recognized

Also check the adapter manual, there may be some sort of config to do to the bios before it will run ok, you deffo need the sata driver for the drives though if they are new bare drives.
