I got ST2000DL003 today!! Some beeps..Windows 7 takes an eternity to boot (probably detecting a new unformatted drive).
Device Manager states as ST_M13FQBL ATA device.. what?
Firmware is CC32. What am i supposed to do? So my drive is an RMA returned product on the first day itself?

Your issue is similar to this case
Looks like this ST2000DL003 drive is starting to replicate the problems with the 7200.11
.....and not just the problems, Seagate continues to maintain their state of denial just like the 7200.11 during the initial stage....never mind lets bump this thread up for now.

Could we collect some data about the problematic drives? Maybe it's a problematic batch which can be determined by this way.
I've found a picture on the web for demonstration:

Hi, mine just stopped working after about 2 months of occasional use.
It is of the 9VT166-300 version with firmware CC31.
The system is a Sabertooth/i7-950/Win7pro64 with an SSD system disk.
Tried an older drive in the port to check that the mobo is allright and it worked just fine.
I hope Seagate react soon - I also had about 700GB of useful stuff on the disk.
