Re: ST2000DL003 Barracuda Green not detected at BIOS

Of all the persons that replied in this topic, is there anybody who is working for Seagate? Or is there a Seagate employee on this forum that can tell us if Seagate is looking into this issue and what kind of information they need to figure this one out?

Re: ST2000DL003 Barracuda Green not detected at BIOS

Microsoft has just released a hot fix for Advanced Format 4k disks citing reliability issues.  I wonder if this is related to the problem..

Re: ST2000DL003 Barracuda Green not detected at BIOS

I'm having issues with these drives in my Qnap NAS.

I bought 4. One was DOA, one is working with no problems and two are failing at random times.

That Seagate have not acknowledged any issues is disgusting. Firmware CC32.

Re: ST2000DL003 Barracuda Green not detected at BIOS

I just bought 2 of these for my machine:-

Asus Rampage Formula bios rev 1001

xeon processor

Asus U3S6 controller

When i plug the disks in 1 is recognized in the bios, but disappears from windows once i try to format it and is then also missing in my bios.  Changing the sata port to a sata port on my mobo results in the drive being seen again, but it disappears again once i try and format it.  Tried different power cables, sata cables and ports, always with the same result.

The second drive emits 11 short beeps on post, detects as a 4.1gb drive in the bios and is completely invisible within windows.  It also slows my boot up into windows down to a painful process of 5+ minutes.

Both are CC32

Both are effectively mid priced, ugly paperweights currently.

C'mon Seagate, at least acknowledge this issue! It's better to say "We don't know what the problem is, but we're working on it" than to say nothing at all!

Contrary to Ronan Keatings love interest, you DON'T say it best when you say nothing at all!

Re: ST2000DL003 Barracuda Green not detected at BIOS

Yannick,

It ain't gonna happen!

Either:

1. They have not got a clue.

2. They don't give a darn about their customers, who are dwindling rapidly by the minute.

My vote is on 2

Screw this, i'm just going to RMA or get a full refund. Last time I buy Seagate. What terrible support.
