My system recognizes ST2000DL003 drives only as 1.5 Gb/s SATA even though motherboard suppots 3 Gb/s. Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H v1.0, latest firmware F12B, It has AMD 780G, SB700. Drives configured for RAID1 in BIOS. Used multiple WD drives in the past and all showed up as 3 Gb/s when looked at using AMD RaidXpert. RaidXpert also shows drive firmware CC32. System has Win 7/64 bit.
I have seen many posts about drives not going down to 1.5 Gb/s but never refusing to negotiate up to 3 Gb/s. Are there jumper settings that can force the drive to 3 Gps? Is new firmware coming that negotiates better? Are there bios settings to change? System is running fine (with RAID1) but would like better disk speed.
thanks
