ST31000333AS with CC1F

I have couple ST31000333AS with CC1F firmware.

The big problem is with access time, they're too slow: 15.6ms.

While on 750GB I get 12.5ms, in which is the normal.

We 1TB owners also want a better firmware than CC1F, like CC1J, we know every release is a better revision (more stable, speedy, fix bugs, etc) of undated and previous firmwares.

Re: ST31000333AS with CC1F

Fully agree. These drives (ST31000333AS w/CC1F), being 7200.11s were advertised everywhere with seek times of 8.5 msec, and they are giving access times of around 15.1 msec as they are today, which translates to seek times of around  11 msec once rotational delay is discounted. I personally think this is almost a fraud. Besides, this firmware seems like not having the stutter issue fixed, which even if not as bad as in the 1.5TB ones can still be observed.

So seagate, why don't you also provide firmware for this ones ? or at least comment on the possibility of flashing CC1J in those...

CC1F not affected?! I wouldn't call it "flawless"

300 hrs and it has already treated me like this

Re: ST31000333AS with CC1F

I have a ST31500341AS with firmware CC1J and am getting the same clicking + lagged out reads behaviour as people have been reporting on the older revisions.  I think the only reason CC1J and the other CC firmwares haven't been acknowledged as problematic is that their failure rate is still low due to relatively few hours of use.

Re: ST31000333AS with CC1F

what a heck disk ! I bought this 1T hard disk ST31000333AS with firmware CC1F about 1 month ago and also encountered system halt , blue screen. At first , I re-installed the system several times, but still couldn't solve this problem. The system BIOS cannot recognize the hard disk after system rebooting! It's seagate's faults and seagate should answer for it!
