I recently built a new WHS 2011 home server and have four of these drives in it...long story short the drives just keeping dropping out of the array; just show up as "missing" randomly...sometimes one drive, sometimes two...usually after a reboot they show up again, but damage to array has been done and rebuild is required.
I've replaced a few of the drives, ones that seemed to drop more. I've also replaced the mainboard, power supply and all cables (data and power)...STILL have the same problem.
OS has been reloaded multiple times and array re-created from scratch a number of times. Same problem.
Are these drives just not "fit" for use in a RAID 5 array? If so, would the 3TB Barracuda 7,200 rpm version work (STBD3000100)?
