Say yes to a massive repositioning of HD, with new HD, to give confidence and works 100%

Hi,

This model has a production error, but Seagate does not want to remove it from the shops.

The solutions give you, do not work. I update the firmware and stopped making noise, 5 days later the HD was dead.

Do not trust the firmware updates. It's a hardware problem and not fixed with a firmware update. If so would already have been fixed in the first patch.

The only solution is massive replacement around the world.

Say yes to a massive replacement of HD, with new HD, which 100%  functionality and which restore the confidence.(ST3000DM001, ST2000DM001 .....)

Fantastic post, fw kills HDD in 5 days :smileysurprised:

No mention of how the drive has lived, where it's lived, nor in what it's lived,

I really miss it here and wadding through these tabloid press type postings, NOT! :smileyfrustrated:

I can only imagine the treatment this drive had before it popped it's clogs,

Say yes to a massive  compulsory PC building course before you open a PC case

Hello "SEAGURU"
I see they pay you well to make announcements flights for seagate
But your understanding of guru I can tell you that the discs are like the first day and have 5 weeks and when the RMA curse tennis 2 weeks. Of course, now the idiots do not spend the users to pull media from table to the floor. Is that you believe you smarter than the rest. Tell your friend that you are about selling Xim and stop deceiving people with your messages and calls. Produce quality hard drives and you will have to defend yourself as boxeadores..

Spanish:

Hola "SEAGURU",

Seaguru is a rank on the community and does not mean that a member works for Seagate.  :smileyhappy:

@ vsm,

How wrong you can be and that's why I pulled this thread up,

You may well have a bad drive and that's not in question, but you have gone route one to condemn the whole series of drives because you may have a bad one, this happens in all lines of manufacturing and is unavoidable, that is why you have the chance to return it where you bought it or directly to to Seagate for a replacement,

I can forgive you for thinking I work for the company, but I assure you I don't, the guru bit was just to highlight me and a couple of other posters as regular helper's here,

Getting back to the DM's, the re-seller I use has been tipped off some months ago that there maybe a problem (this is when the chirp was the thing to complain about) so month's on they are still fitting them to their full build PC's and retailing them to the public, as they sell WD and Hitachi also you'd think by now if the Seagate was that bad they would've had loads of returns and stopped selling them wouldn't you?

Fact is they have had neither, which again points to either a rogue drive or your handling of the drive as the real problem in this case, electronics are very sensitive, how do I know you've not handled the drive with sweaty hands and contaminated the PCB, how do I know you've got a PSU that is any good, how do I know what PC you are putting it in, you live in a hot country, do you assist the drive with a fan or simply put it in a cheap unvented case, how do I know you haven't subjected it to numerous hard boots, fact is I just don't know either way, so if it's broken return it where you bought it for a swap or refund, but don't come on forums declaring a whole product range bad simply because yours no longer works, would you buy a car then crash it into a wall and then take it back to the dealer saying it's no good because it crumpled when you hit the wall?

Thought not.

Hi Cantbecanit did you not know that everyone is a pc pro these days LOL. What really bugs me is they can buy hard drives play with them doing gosh knows what to them and if they cant get them to work places like staples allows them to return them. At this time then the pro staples A+ techs give them a quick check if they even do that and put them back out for sale again so you never know what your getting. Small pc shops I like if you open it its yours best policy.
