Seagate 3T shows a single 746G disk on Windows Disk Management of Windows 7 and Vista

I have a NexStar NST-D100 hard drive dock and a brand new Seagate ST3000DM001 3T hard disk.

On both my Vista and Windows 7, when I try to initialize the disk, the Windows Disk Management always show a seagate 746G as a single disk.

I read all instructions. It seems an expection on my situations.

How to use 3T capacity?

I solved the same problem installing intel rapid storage drivers.

I use 64-bit win7. obviously if you have a mainboard with intel chipset.

Does this help? We have quite a few resources on this issue.

Try using this version http://www.seagate.com/staticfiles/support/downloads/discwizard/DiscWizardSetup-14387.en.exe and you must have Intel RST on the C drive,

What you describe is normally how XP spits it out btw, use discwizard linked above not the old versions and format it in there and if you are drive space short bring the remaining space in as an extended partition, if any of this is fuzzy read the DW how2 before setting out.

Resolved. I bought a new disk dock. It shows the 2700 G right way.
