Why do you say you have not received the return? RMA 1005522072

On 10-July-2012 I sent the return (RMA_1005522072) at (UPS-SCS Milan, UPS-SCS Italy, Collection Point Seagate, Via E. Fermi 2, Peschiera Borromeo, (MI), 20068, Italy) and shipper (Italian Post Office) gave me the following code AD7VFNF to track the shipment. On the site of the shipper, on page http://www.poste.it/online/dovequando/start.do?subaction=paccoordinario can occur, placing the tracking code, the status of the shipment. Currently on this site and with the above code, the shipment is delivered ... Why write about not having received the return, on the RMA status page? I already asked this question, about ten days ago, without getting any response from assistance Seagate, but now, always on hand Seagate, I received an email that tells me it is impossible to replace the defective hard drive, why not received!! What should I do? Sorry for my bad English, but I translated the text with the translator of google. Thanks in advance for the help they give me to solve it. Mark

I have already contacted the customer support of my region, but provided no support in Italian and I do not speak other languages so I sent an email, google translated, using the appropriate form available on your website, where I explained my problem and I gave all the details useful to understand the situation, but I have not received any response until now.

Re: Why do you say you have not received the return? RMA 1005522072

I solved my problem losing the warranty and the units, but I sadly discovered that no matter how secure the packaging with which we will send you the HDD and do not mind even if the hard disk will arrive intact or damaged, the only thing that really matters is that the packaging is what you want! In your opinion, any customer who, after having bought and PAID your product is discovered VICTIM of a failure under warranty, should spend a figure ranging between 30 and 50 Euros to buy the shipping container, pack and ship a product DEFECTIVE in the hope that he does not refuse ... the warranty A CONSUMER RIGHT! It should at least be your concern, post your pictures on the state in which you receive the parcel containing the units, before accusing us of not having consumer packaged rendered properly. Many of us complain about your behavior in this, just a little research on google to notice! However you have just lost a customer and you have made bad publicity. Thanks for wasting money, inconvenience and disruptions that have caused me. Usai Marco

Re: Why do you say you have not received the return? RMA 1005522072

Hi I just looked at there requirements. Well first of all they have a link that you can go to, to buy a container but you have to buy 10 of them not nice. The day I return a drive for RMA in the original box I bought it in and it is refused is the day I will be going to there RMA center. To be so picky that they want you to buy special packaging to return there drives just makes me want to give up as I expect many do. I know when company’s get these drives ie staples they arrive in a big box with only the hard drives in there for sale boxes no foam around the inside of the big box containing the drives maybe they need to take more care when they ship the drives out and follow there own advice. Anything to get out of replacing the drive I guess. At least in Canada the law states as long as the package is secure they have to accept it they can’t make you buy special packing for it. Also they only pay return shipping, if there are any border cost's on the return you have to pay for them. So total up your time the price of the package the border costs for shipping and the down time on an 89 $ drive may as well buy a new one.

Re: Why do you say you have not received the return? RMA 1005522072

Hello Hammey having had to send back to Seagate defective units, I saw for myself everything you say! For packaging units according to them I had to spend $ 17.20 for "3.5" HDD Cushion - Bundle of 10 "not counting on that site Reflex does not specify the shipping costs and the purchasing process automatic the only choice is the removal by hand ... I live in Italy near Milan and the point of withdrawal that I show on the site of the Reflex is Santana in California! And adding the rest of the cost of packaging materials plus shipping than I should pay for use of my right? Adding all the problems and obstacles that Seagate gave me the time of purchase of its products now and considering that to date I have not even the wreckage of the units to cry on the money lost, the next purchase of storage units will have definitely a different brand from Seagate!
