Why is ST31000333AS not getting recognised on ASUS K8V motherboard?

I have purchased this harddisk yesterday (ST31000333AS) and the harddisk is not getting recohgnised in my BIOS. My motherboard is ASUS K8V and it seems there can be instances wherein it cannot recognise SATA II type of harddisk. To come out of this situation the harddisk needs to be set to 150 Mbps mode.
According to the user manual the other hard disk in the 7200.11 series have a jumper settings to set in this mode, but it does not mention how I can set this (ST31000333AS) in that mode.
