hard disk failure imminent

i have a ST3320813AS hard disk which is 1.2 years old, now getting error message, before boot up that "hard disk failure is imminent" but when i connect my hard disk to any other motherboard, error message is not coming... also if i connect any other hard disk to my motherboard, error message is not coming... error message only comes when my hard disk is connected to my motherboard...at present i have access to my hard disk...i am using a compaq presario desktop... plese help...

Backup your data and replace your drive.

Try a comprehensive SMART diagnostic tool. Look for reallocated, pending, or uncorrectable sectors.

my hard disk is working fine with other motherboards... and my motherboard is not showing any problem with other hard disk... i need to fix this faulty error message... i m using xp and ubuntu 10.10... it is showing some bad sector error... i have tried to troubleshoot it in windows xp  by "attempt to recover bad sectors" option in disk properties... but it didn't helped... i hv compaq presario desktop... the service center guy told... hard disk is ok...there is some problem between hard disk and motherboard...he cant fix it...now i am getting problems...some time my computer is not detecting the hard disk but some time it does... please help...

Not all motherboards perform a SMART check during POST. I'm betting that your drive witll have exceeded the SMART threshold for the reallocated sectors attribute. Use SeaTools to obtain an error code, then backup your data and replace the drive.
