hard drive compatibility

I have a Toshiba satellite X205-S9349 and it has 2.  SATA 120gb hard drives 5400rpm.

What I want to do is change the primary drive for a Seagate Momentus 320gb 7200rpm hdd, p/n. ST9320421ASG.

It looks to me that it should be ok.  Can anyone confirm this please and also advise if there is anything in particular I need to do, to ensure that this new primary drive will be recognised ok ??:robotwink:

If you will be installing Windows onto the new primary drive, you will either need to slipstream the SATA controllers on to your Windows install (unless you have a floppy drive on your laptop), or you could disable AHCI in the BIOS. Though some dissaprove of the latter method.

As for recognition the laptop BIOS shouldn't have a problem.

edit:

Apparently you can re-enable AHCI after as long as you follow the instructions here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976

I believe it only applies to Vista.
