need a little help, Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001

I just bought me a Seagate for the first time,

it is a Barracuda ST2000DM001  -  9YN164  

 

i read several places that the firmware needs to be updated on this disc,

most commonly mentioned is to CC4H, mine have CC4B

 

i don't know much about harddrives, neither the firmware versions eg. CC4H 

so i have to ask, do i need to update my new harddrive?

i have been browsing the this site as well as a lot of others,

but i don't understand most of what i read, regarding harddrives,

i've always seen a harddrive as just a storage and nothing else,

but i'm getting the feeling that it ain't that simple,

(kind of like when you ask someone what computer they have, and they say it a white one)

i can read and understand some english, but most on this site i can't find either

heads or tails in, it's quite confusing.

 

can someone please help me if they know the answer
