Hi !
I'm french , and my english is bad , please escuse me for that .
Last week I had buy 2 maxtor STM31000340AS drives , and they have problems ...
the first drive is functional , but reeboot sometime ( the noise "clic clic" who normaly eard at the boot )
the second drive is recognized by the system and windows but , i can't make any transfer and sometimes the computer was frozen .
I would like to know if in the STM31000340AS model's , haven't series problems ?
my drives was maked at the date code : 09177 ans 09176
on the site code KRATSG

No, the series has no known problems, other than normal hard drive weaknesses.
Please run Seatools tests on the drives.
Also, check your power supply to make sure it provides enough wattage.

I tested drives with one other computer and the result was the same ...
with seatools , first drive's checkup is good but the second drive is bad , it make a big freez and i must reeboot the computer ...

the main point was. the harddrive is broken. there is a 28% failure rate on those and other Seagate harddrives. A 28% or worse failure rate for them is normal these days. change it to something else if you can.
there are big issues with those drives which are not "normal harddrive problems". lookup sd15 thailand to get a starting point what to search for.
