I have two identical Seagate hard disks (ST31000528AS). One has driveletter C where my OS (Windows 7 Enterprise) is installed. Other has driveletter D, used for backups. I retrieved the serial numbers but I need to identify which serial belongs to which drive. No idea how. Any help most welcome. Thank you for your time on this matter.

I love to reply my own questions. With help of Experts Exchange I figured it out using AIDA64.
If anyone else needs the solution, feel free to ask.

So how do you find serial number of specific drive?

Download http://www.aida64.com/downloads/aida64extreme250ex
You can use the trial version. This tool is a follow up of the former freeware tool Everest. You can use Everst if you still have that.
In Aida64/Everest go to storage=>physical drives and check drive #1 and drive #2 which drive has c:/ and d:/ on it.
In storage=> ata you can lookup the firmware, the first one in the list is drive 1 the second one is drive 2 so you should know the serialnumber of c:/ and d:/ device
All thanks and credits for gothliker of http://www.experts-exchange.com/. Was a great help for me. Hope it serves you too.
