just thought i would explain to some of you, ive spent 2 days trying to update the firmware in my ST3500320AS 9BX154-303
as the others said the drive just will not detect HD with the boot cd on my main pc (K9N2 SLI Platinum Nforce750a)
just get a message saying was exspecting ST3500320AS (obviously i tried every Sata Setting there is)
So i tried the same on another old pc i have here with a via chipset. what a surprise Same message (also tried afew other settings)
then i tried another pc i have here with Nforce3 ultra chipset, the drive was picked up straight away and Flashed perfect to SD1A
so just to let you guys no this firmware does work on ST3500320AS 9BX154-303 but you got to have a chipset that works with it
which i find outragous (Seagate please get your act together, until i hear of better products this will be the last seagate product i buy or recommend)

My Model: ST3500320AS, , Firmware: SD15, Part Number 9BX154-303
I have also the MSI K9N2-Board with NVidia 750a-Chipset, but no older PC with another Chipset to fix it like DigitalUK did.

Well Arizona66, i'm in the same position as you. Exact problems.
Now, adding more stupidity to all this mess, like DigitalUK did, we have to find
a proper PC to "guess" or "try" the firmware update. And we could end trying 3, 5, or 15 different PC configurations.
Great ! Just what we ( hundreds/thousands customers ) need !
That's absolutely beyond everything. Shame.
PS. Good for you DigitalUK !
