Any reliable NAS backup options?

Well its been 2 years since I got my NAS 220 so I came back to the forums to see if there are any new updates that would make NAS to NAS or NAS to USB backups usable and reliable and it seems like ... NOT! Still just a simple rsync with no gui/software to manage it.

I have been jumping thru hoops manually backing up my NAS to an external USB drive on a pc for 2 years now (since Blackarmor backup does not allow you to backup network/mapped drives).

Does anyone have a reliable way to backup the NAS that does not require daily babysitting? Yes I know all backups need to be monitored and tested periodically, that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about a backup method that does not require 2 hours a day to figure out why the NAS to NAS rsync is hanging or running slower then a floppy copy, or not backing up files with file names in all CAPS or not backing up anything when there is a full moon.
