Hi all,
I'm pretty close to a nervous breakdown, since almost all my important data is gone as of now. Here's the setup and what happened:
BlackArmor NAS 220, 2x2TB mirrored as RAID 1. I used the NAS and its volumes on an iMac with Lion. I have everything set to german, so I'll have to translate the messages given instead of repeating the exact words.
I received a couple of E-Mails from the NAS beginning 2 hrs ago, that told me that both drives' SMART statuses were changed to FAIL, and the volume was now running in restricted mode.
After hard resetting, I could log into the admin interface via a browser and IP http://192.168.178.25/ , where the messages were repeated. The volumes seem to be gone, none of my files are visible anywhere.
I don't care if the whole RAID runs again or the NAS works like a charm, i'll probabaly never trust this piece of junk again. All I need is a clean copy of my lost files. I now shut down the NAS to prevent further damage.
What would be the best/most likely successful way to get my data back?
Thank you in advance...
