BlackArmor NAS 110 - Issue reading files FROM the device

I have created a number of shares and I am able to copy files TO those shares over the network.  I am also able to browse the folders and view the list of files on the shares.  However I am unable to read files FROM the share.  I see the file but if I try to open it or copy it to my local drive it times-out.

I have the same issue with the media server.  I can connect from my networked BD player and see the BlackArmor device.  I can browse the folders I have shared from media sharing.  However any video I select will simply try to load for a few minutes and time-out.

I have the shares set to public access.  I have gone back and added all of the network protocols for access.

Any ideas that can help? I find nothing on the troubleshooting or user guide that has helped with this issue.

Re: BlackArmor NAS 110 - Issue reading files FROM the device

I'd like to help you get this resolved. Please let me know what happens when you try to open these files from another computer, and which firmware version you have installed on the NAS. Do you try to open these files with a specific program?

Re: BlackArmor NAS 110 - Issue reading files FROM the device

Firmware Version: 1000.1081

Built on Fri, 01 Oct 2010

I cannot open files from the server.  I cannot even copy the files from the server back to the same computer I uploaded them from or any otehr computer.  To test, I copied a simple 100KB PDF from my computer to the public folder on the NAS110 (it took a fraction of a second) and then tried to copy it back to my computer (in a different directory to avoid any "file already exists" concerns) and it estimated the copy process at 4 hours but just spun with no progress until windows timed out the process.

I have the same issue no matter the computer I attempt to access the files from.   I also have the same issue if I attempt to play any media file over a DLNA compatable device.  For instance, on my BD player I see the BlackArmor device show up as a server, I can navigate through the folders and get a list of all of the videos I have stored there but when I select one to play it never starts playing and eventually times out.  I cannot

Regardless of how I try to access the filed it never gives me an error that the file is unaccessible or that I do not have permissions.  When I try to copy any file back to my computer it starts a progressbar that just never moves and the "estimated time remaining" just grows into  the hours until eventually it times out.

I have attached screenshots of the list of shares and the permissions and configs for the "Video" share.  All shares (including the default installed public share) are behaving the same for me.

Re: BlackArmor NAS 110 - Issue reading files FROM the device

It would be good to see if things speed up when the NAS is running on the most recent firmware, version 1000.1321:
