Please start by taking a look at the following knowledge base article to see if you are able to install the software properly:
German version of the article:
Please let me know how that works out for you.

I did that . I also wrote Seagate. they told me that the software doesnt work on Lion OS X -.-
they also said that the problem is that my router doesnt give me NAS an true IP cause the give me a 169.... IP and so on .

I have exactly the same problem (see my similar post). So far no response from Seagate. I am trying to install a replacement NAS220 drive for one that failed under warranty. The original NAS220 was set up using Discovery with Windows 7 without any issues but I have since switched to Apple machines running iOS 10.7.5 and no longer have any Windows machines. Without being able to run Discovery the replacement drive is pretty useless. I hope you are wrong about Discovery not running on Liion.
How about a definitive answer for this question ?

See my posted solution. Basically you should contact Seagate customer service and have them provide a link to download the latest Discovery software. This is running perfectly on my iMac. Before installing the latest version, you should first delete the version of Discovery that you have on your iMac to avoid a potential conflict. You need to contact customer service for a link that is associated with your drive, so have the serial number ready when you call them.
