HP Laserjet 1018 NAS110

Hello!

I just connected my HP Laserjet 1018 to my new  NAS 110. Although "Hewlett-Packard_HP_LaserJet_1018" appears in the printer manager, I have no success adding the printer via TCP/IP.

Any help appreciated!

Thnx,

Chris

Re: HP Laserjet 1018 NAS110

I just reconnected the printer and was able to add the printer by searching the network with the add printer option. However now , I face the problem that although the printer has been detected, I am not able to print out any docs. Docs sent to the printer just disappear.

Re: HP Laserjet 1018 NAS110

I am running into this same problem.  I can print from some applications but not others.  One possible solution may be renaming the printer share name to a shorter name but this does not seem possible to do on the NAS.  I get an unable to save settings access denied when I try to shorten up the printer share name.  Maybe something a firmware update or backdoor hack of some sort can fix.  How about it Seagate?

Re: HP Laserjet 1018 NAS110

Chris (or others...) - I am at the state of your first post - I can see my USB-printer from the NAS 110 manager, but windows does not see it at all.  When I search the network from 'add printer', nothing shows up except "microsoft windows network".  Did you change anything with firewalls etc to make it visible when you "reconnected the printer"?  Any help would be appreciated. (I am running XP and a LinkSys 54GS router.)

Re: HP Laserjet 1018 NAS110

Got it - I'd swear I tried it earlier, but searching for the printer via IP worked (\\192.168.1.101/HEWLETT-PACKARD_DESKJET_960C) and then installing the printer driver when asked  - done. We'll see if it holds.
