NAS 110 1TB - via Discovery- "No server found...", but full usable via int. browser on local network

[ Edited ]

First at all - sorry for my poor english.

Situation: WinXP HE, local network, router ADSL with DHCP, windows firewall disabled, no AV.

When I connect NAS to router, BlackArmor Discovery says "No server found on your network". When I switch NAS to static address, I can connect to it via internet browser and configure. I can use BlackArmor Backup with this NAS, but Discover stiil not found it. Why?

You can run into the issue you described if another program is conflicting with the Acronis Backup utility. To narrow down which software, use MSCONFIG to shut down one by one the programs that are running in the background.

1. Click on "Start"
2. Click on "Run"
3. Enter MSCONFIG into the "Run" line, then press "Enter". Click the "Services" tab
4. Check "Hide All Microsoft Services"
5. Go through the list of remaining programs and close out any that aren't necessary for your system to run. Restart when prompted, and then retry the backup.
