NAS 110 : Media Server - walk through folders instead of the standard album/artist/genre/playlist

I just got a Seagate Blackarmor 110 NAS as my previous one died. I'm trying out the various options and I primarily use the NAS as a Media server. Is there a way to get the Mediaserver to server folders as is instead of the standard album/artist/genre/playlist menu ?  I would like to walk through the folders as I've laid out instead of Media server sorting it. My previous one use to do it and it made my life much easier to find out where I stored the albums. Also, one of my UPnP clients cannot connect to the device, is there some sort of debugging/status capabilities to figure out what is going wrong.

Re: NAS 110 : Media Server - walk through folders instead of the standard album/artist/genre/playlis

I found out by that every folder/file is added via itunes. With itunes open go to the edit tab and select preferences. From there click on "Sharing", and make sure "Share Library on local network", and "Share entire library" are checked. Now in the main itunes screen go to "File" tab. Use Add folder or file option to library to add what you want. Worked great for my Lg tv using DLNA. HAvent tried the PS3 with this but definetly works. If you add or change content of library frequently you should also change the NAS option to check itunes library mor often. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same issue trying to play music on my PS3.

Will checking  "Share Library on local network" and "Share entire library" in iTunes make changes in the NAS' media server making the library accessible from my ps3 while only the NAS is turned on?
