NFS access - RPC Error

I'm trying to get NFS working and I'm getting an error that does not make much sense to me: "mount: mount to nfs server 'nas1' failed: RPC Error: Program not registered".  I'm definitely requesting nfs and the only option I'm using is 'soft'.  My client machine is running Centos 5.7 (RHEL).  Is this possibly something from selinux?  I'm also calling the share using the undocumented "nas1:/vgn1/<sharename>" syntax.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,  Tim

Re: NFS access - RPC Error

An additional test...  I setup a new share and ONLY gave it nfs share capabilities (no cifs, ftp, media, or anything else).  In any case I attempted to look at what the NAS has exported via webmin and I get the following:

Failed to retrieve NFS exports from nas1 :

mount clntudp_create: RPC: Program not registered

Maybe there is no NFS server running

I'm starting to wonder if this issue may be related to the 4000.1211 firmware update issued back in February.  I'm 99% that NFS was once working on this NAS with the same configuration.  There has not been an NFS need between then and now so it's a test I didn't check back when I installed the newer firmware.

Does anyone have a BlackArmor 420 or 440 with the 4000.1211 firmware actually connecting NFS?

TIA,  Tim

Re: NFS access - RPC Error

Solved my own problem...  Missed the network services tab where it explicitly needs to be turned on.

In some ways it was a worthwhile issue where I found that someone has SSH working with the NAS from all my searching around the forum.

Thanks, Tim
