Network Interface Speed

Is there a way to set the Network Interface Speed.  I'm stuck for a while with 100 Mb switches and it seems as though the BA 440 has trouble auto negotiating speed and duplex with the switch.  I can temporarily use a Gigabit switch and it works much faster, but I can't leave it in place.

Current BA firmware is 4000.0261

Thanks

Re: Network Interface Speed

What switch?  BA and Dlink don't get along.

And the latest firmware for the box is 4000.0631.  I'd start by installing that.

tamcgraw,

Take a look at http://forums.seagate.com/t5/BlackArmor-NAS-Network-Storage/NAS-110-degraded-Read-speed/td-p/46981 and you can see what Chuck is talking about.

The person replaced a D-Link switch with a NetGear switch and his issues were resolved.

Re: Network Interface Speed

Hi Chuck:

Can you expand on your comment about BA and Dlink?  I recently purchased a Dlink DGS-2205 Gig switch and BA running at Gig speed full duplex basically doesn't work.  I had to switch back (no pun intended) to my old 100 meg switch.  Running original firmware 4000.0271

Re: Network Interface Speed

A number of people here had reported network performance problems with BlackArmor NAS boxes and Dlink

switches.  Switching switch brands sped things up.

Lately, there have been reports of performance problems on the latest firmware with other brands of switches.
