Re: Problem with Blackarmor 220 (4TB) on Gigabit Switch

Hi,

I have very similar problem with my NAS 220 4TB. I can reach transfer speed 60-100Mb/s when I copy any file between my desktop and notebook through the gigabit network (new 3Com gigabit 8 ports switch). But it is only 11MB/s during write and 15MB/s during read between NAS and any computer. I tried to connect NAS directly to my desktop and change cables but nothing has changed. The strange thing is that my NAS was much faster when I tested it in the first day (25Mb/s write and 45MB/s read). But performance has rapidly decreased next day.

Can you help me?

Re: Problem with Blackarmor 220 (4TB) on Gigabit Switch

Hi,
I have pretty much the same problem. Using my BlackArmor 220 with the DLink DGS-1005D I get a read performance of ca. 300kByte/s, using an old noname 100MBit switch I'm at 10 MByte/s.

@Birdb80: Did you solve your problem?

Re: Problem with Blackarmor 220 (4TB) on Gigabit Switch

I ran across a post that reported performance problems with D-link routers on certain websites and suggested reducing the

MTU size.  The post said the problem had to do with IPTABLES and the way they were setup on the D-Link.

This might be something similar.  Changing the MTU is fairly easy to try.

[ Edited ]

The same problem by me. NAS 110 and D-LInk 5-Port Gigabit switch. Speed 300 MBps.

The same with Intellinet switches.

Only good solution is Netgear! Work fine.

Re: Problem with Blackarmor 220 (4TB) on Gigabit Switch

I have D-Link DIR-655, BlackArmor 220 (2T) and exactly the same problem with read speed. Partially solved with netgear 10/100 switch, between router and BlackArmor, -  it still works not as lightning :smileywink:  but I have now more or less acceptable speed ~10 MB/s
