I updated to the latest CC4H. There is no very loud click for now, but the tweeting are still happens for me.
After one minute of inactivity the HDD makes a 'tweet' and when I'm accessing to the drive again it 'clicks'.
See an example (from 0:58): http://soundcloud.com/hellrage/st2000dm001-issue/s
It makes these sounds very often when I'm using my PC, makes me really crazy. It never happens on any other of my drives like Hitachi, Samsung, etc.
I woundering why there is no any comments from any officials that 'the issuу are worked on'? So many users are complaining... They can just release a tool like WD did (WDIDLE3.EXE) and makes this 9999 complains gone.
Maybe there is a way to call them or make any other way of contact of just posting on the forum isn't helps?

Is there any update on "No controllers found" issue on Z77 motherboards?
I'm trying update my ST2000DM001 firmware from CC4C to the latest one on ASUS P8Z77-V board. I tried both bootable CD and Windows updater and getting "No controllers found" error every time. The chirping sound is very annoying, it's 5 times louder then any other sound my computer makes.

I'm using P8z77-V too and finally succeeded to upgrade bios.
Before starting, the sata cable should be connected to the ports of Z77 chipset. (Refer to board manual)
The HDDs connected to the sata ports of ASmedia would not be detected in dos mode for firmware update.
Go to UEFI setup (BIOS), change AHCI to IDE mode, and proceed the bios update required (with bootable CD).
Don't forget to change back to AHCI mode after finishing the update procedure.
