Just curious to know if anyone updated to firmware CC49? If so, did the update procedure go well? My hard drive ST31000528AS (Barracuda 7200.12) is listed for the new firmware, but when I put in the serial number in the serial checker is states "no action is required". Kinda confusing a new firmware is listed but the serial checker says otherwise. My current firmware is CC46.
Windows 7 64-bit Professional
12GB of RAM
Hard Drives in AHCI mode (Intel Rapid Storage Driver v10.1.0.1008)

so running seatools on it has passed all test but this is the only new hardware and problem showed up after this new drive was installed had the bsy error on my 7200.11 barracuda that i rma`d and was sent this 7200.12 as replacement i`ll see if running more test on this disk brings up any errors or did the firmware correct problems

Hi j effery6803
Your post seems a bit confusing. You have a Baracuda 7200.12 and you did update the firmware to CC49? This update causes random crashes? Your old Baracuda 7200.11 has the "bsy error" which you RMA'd?

I updated mine last night. The only problem I am having is that the drive is now slower. It takes over 40 seconds longer to boot to windows 7 login and about 2 minutes longer to load every thing after login without starting any programs myself. Even Norton V18.6. is loading slower, it used to be the very first thing to load.
