I can't find a thing about this product model number on Seagate's website! I connect the product externally via USB to my laptop. I stopped working today and now upon power up the disk spins up beeps/clicks once, pauses, then 11 more times, then spins down. Windows 7 is not properly recognizing the device. I found the youtube video below which sounds exactly like my problem. Does anyone know anything about this?
thanks in advance

I shows up as a generic usb storage device under USB controllers in the Device Manager, but not under Disk drives. Seatools locks up after connecting the faulty drive. I let Seatools churn for 15 minutes before stoping. Should I wait longer?

Before you write it off, plug it into a desktop PC's rear MB ports, this will show if it's a power issue or not, Laptops don't always provide enough power, especially when on battery, hth.

"I connect the product externally via USB to my laptop."
Thats what I saw tbh, still could be the port causing problems though, best to rule everything out before going to expense eh.
THB, it needs to come out of the enclosure and be ran as a slave, only then can we know it's not the enclosure or lead doing it, process of elimination.

I agree, I just don't think there is anything to lose by hooking it up bare before the final spinout.
