I' ve been trying to Reinstall my computer but it appears that it can't continue after the " Setup is starting", it keeps saying i need to load a driver to continue, there is a rescan button but it just doesnt recognize any drivers, i' ve tried to put my current drivers (.sys) files on to a usb stick but that doesn't work either.
The info i have is that my HDD = Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3500830AS
And that my Motherboard's name = ECS MCP78PVM-PM
I really need help on this one.
Thanks in advance,

You need a sata driver, it's the pre install one on the MB disk, tends to be a bit hit and miss tbh.
2 ways around it
1 - slave the drive to a working system and ntfs format it
2 - turn off ahci in the bios and run ide mode then hack the registry later to enable ahci.

Hi yes its very strange cant really find that motherboard even on ecs site. Is it in a prebuilt pc like a packard bell or hp system if so giving us the model number of the pc we should be able to point you to the right drivers.

Well, yes it is a rebuilt pc, its a Packard bell 8400 iMedia AIO but despite that,i cant find it on their site.
I only have 3 options on my bios, AHCI,SATA and RAID, its on AHCI now and there isnt any IDE option there, what can i change?
I know the controller, which is the Nvidia MCP78 but i' ve tried those drivers and none of them worked, it should be .irf and most of them are .exe files.
I currently got no other workingsystems just this one and i need to reinstall this one.

Choose the sata option.

Your MOBO seems to be very old. Before installing Win7, review all your hardware to make sure that they are compatible and up to the tasks with this new OS. For example, your HDD (ST3500830AS) is an SATA II and your MOBO (ECS MCP78PVM-PM), presumably, might have some SATA I ports. Of course, it would work but the speed will be reduced significantly! Also, consider other critical items such as memory, video...
However, if you're convinced to go ahead with your plan, then try the following link to see if you could find what you need:
Hope this helps.

You dont have to worry about if i can install W7, yes its an old one but it already has W7 installed on it, i just cant find a way to reinstall it since it doesn' t seem to recognize my SATA HDD, Where can you choose the option for SATA?
