Will I be able to use disc wizard to clone an old drive onto a new drive when both drives are connected via usb docking stations (or one docking station and one enclosure)? From the disc wizard manual, it appears that this will work; I thought I'd ask nonetheless.
My old HP desktop computer boots but then freezes. I removed the old boot drive (Seagate Barracuda 750gig), plugged it into a usb docking station onto a second computer and ran Seatools, which showed that if fails short-DST. I can access the files on this drive so my guess is that the OS and files are OK.
I plan to purchase a 2 TB Seagate Barracuda ST32000641AS. I'd like to clone the old 750 gig drive onto the new 2 TB drive and make it the new boot drive, and disc wizard seems as if is the tool to do this. However, I cannot use the old 750 drive and old computer to do this. Therefore, I'm thinking of using the second computer to load the disc wizard, connect the old and new drives via usb docking stations or enclosure, and clone the old to the new in that way.
Will that work?
