After a power falure I got the bad config sys message. I used a method recomended by microsoft to get back up. The method involved overwriting the config files with repair files. It worked but, the repair files were from the original XP SP1 install. System restore from a point prior to the crash didnt work.
I had installed a new seagate internal HD a couple weeks ago. The clone went perfect. I used discwizard to make and image of the HD and save it to my seagate external HD. I want to restore my internal from this image to get my config back. Sounds easy. Disc wizard wont run because my XP is booting as SP1 I get a runtime error. I tried to reinstall DiscWizard and got a windows installer error message. Installer version 3.01.4001.5512. Tried the installer upgrade from microsoft but need SP3 Which I have but cant boot to because of the old config files.
I want to wipe the internal and reinstall the .tib image from my external. How do I do that?
