Some simple ? for those who know

I'm a total newbie to this, and I feel like a bit of a toffee but, what can I do...?:mansad:

OK...the DISCWIZARD 68pg manual is VERY informative yet I'm LOST.

1) -If I install a slave new disc....please can someone tell me about the BIOS...I can get into it and all but the manual gets so involved

that I just need to know the SIMPLESTististist.. way to get the slave recognised for cloning:smileysad:. PLEEEEEZ somebody???

2)- Also , do I need to make a bootable CD???

2)-cont.--Can I do it without a cd...?

Just switch on (once the slave is recognised)  and run DISCWIZARD.

Being a bit of a toffee I'll use AUTO install.

OH , and I'm wanting to clone the MASTER as it is failing...so says S.M.A.R.T when I switch on. (whatever "smart" might be)

Thanx in advance for any help.

And I'll thank you after too:smileyvery-happy:

Re: Some simple ? for those who know

OK Thanx all for the help , you guy's are great here on this forum...what a help you have been....!

Not really.

Not even a Moderator reply.

Anyway , for those as simple as me,.....

My HP 423  accepted the slave seagate without me even having to go there. (Bios)

The "as is" clone was perfect. Don't worry if it seems not to show the extra capacity of the new disc.

The cloning went perfect.

Swapped the clone to "master" and ....it was done.

Then Windows disc manager to configure the new partition to ntfs , and Bob's your uncle.

Once again thanx for the help everyone and it's my pleasure to anyone this may have helped or reassured

about the process.
