Wow! Long time with no reply! I'm a new user and had the same concern as you, so here's what I did:
Verify the image you may need to restore with the DiscWizard version you hope to restore it with. If it verifies, it should work. If it comes back with "corrupted file" -- it won't.
You didn't say whether or not the same DiscWizard version was used with the different operating system versions. If the same version was used in both cases, there is no problem.
I'm assuming only the integrity of the image file itself is verified, and not whether it matches the source*. If this is so, then you don't need to have the original partition/volume present when doing the verification.
I checked two images with older and newer versions of DiskWizard noted backward compatibility, but (in this case) none going forward.

* I've never seen a reference to this in the offical Seagate (or Acronis) documentation. We would need a reply from someone with technical knowledge on this matter.
