500gb freeagent desktop HD showing 232GB

Please help i have a 500gb free agent HD that wasnt working properly so i decdied to back up everything and format the who thing and reloaded the freeagent drive manager back on iy. I noticed it was showing 232gb but it used to show 500. how do i get my free space back the hard drive is completly empty.

 

 

(Removed serial number for privacy purposes.)

I'm afraid you may be mistaken.  This serial number is for a ST302504FDB1E1-RK, which is a 250 GB drive.  You  have the correct capacity displaying.

hummmm well the part number on it shows 500 P/N 9nk2ae-500 could it had shown more before and strangle go down in size just wondering i could have sworn it was 500gb.
