ANNOUNCEMENT: 64-bit OS compatibility now available for some Seagate manager programs

[ Edited ]

I am pleased to announce that new versions of software including 64-bit operating system compatibility (ie, XP64 and Vista64) are available for the following drives:

-FreeAgent Go

-FreeAgent Desk

-FreeAgent XTreme

Also, our brand new Seagate Replica product is compatible with 64-bit operating systems.

Compatibility with 32-bit operating systems remains unchanged.

Have a great day!

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: 64-bit OS compatibility now available for some Seagate manager programs

It downloaded just fine and the set-up program started to work and show hints, etc.

BUT -- Then it said I it would only run on 32 bit Vista or XP. Why is that happening now?????

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: 64-bit OS compatibility now available for some Seagate manager programs

It appears that the Installation Program still requires 32 bit Vista or XP. It is possible that the Seagate Manager mignt actually work in 64 bit IF I could figure out how to install it. Tried XP Compatibility mode - that didn't work. Neither did Win 2000 compatibility mode.

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: 64-bit OS compatibility now available for some Seagate manager programs

I just tried this option several times and still continue to get the same message about 32 bit only.  I did unzip the file and tried to install.  Is there another way to make this work.   Thanks

I've also downloaded the "fix," but it still gives the message about running under the 32 bit system only...  Waiting for help...

Vista 64 Bit

I too just downloaded the program from SeaGate on the previous page from the moderator making it 64 Bit compatible.  Went through the process of unzipping the new file and tried to install.  Guess What?  Same message appears--32 Bit compatible only!!!!

I really thought this would be the solution.

OK, they have informed me that the fixed software is up on the website.  Please let me know if there are any more problems.

Thanks for your patience, everyone.
