Had this problem once before and can't recall how I fixed it. Seagate Desk 500gb/Win7. Backup appears to function correctly and the Manager dialog box shows backup successful and I have no problems accessing the drive via Windows Explorer (drive is obviously "accessible"). Also, Drive Management shows drive letter properly assigned and the drive is healthy and "online". BUT if I mouse-over the Seagate icon in the notification area it shows "Last backup failed" AND the backup log says:

Executing My Backup backup plan ...
Backing up to G: ...
Executing OurBackup backup plan ...
ERROR >>> Destination is not accessible
Copied 0 files, 0 bytes. Total files protected: 19424
Backup completed Friday, December 03, 2010 8:07:38 AM
Reboot had no effect.
I'm stumped.

Please uninstall the Seagate Manager software:
http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/
Download the latest version:
Then reboot your computer.
Then install the new version and try again.
Or you can use other backup strategies. http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/
