Burning data directly from FreeAgent Drives

Hi all,
I am thinking about purchasing a FreeAgent Desktop to store some of my extra image, mp3 and video files but I was wondering about the transfer speeds when reading from the drive.

Specifically, is the USB 2.0 connection going to provide data transfer rates sufficient to burn CD/DVD's pulling data directly off of the FreeAgent drive?

well USB 2.0 is better than 1.1..... with 1.1 the transfer speeds are 12mbps where as 2.0 is 480mbps.... i dont think burning off the external would have too much impact on the transfer rate when using a 2.0 port.... hope that helps....
