Can I password protect my 500GB FreeAgent External Hard Disk

Hi,

I have a 500GB Seagate FreeAgent external hard disk. I am reasonably sure that the model is  ST305004FDA1E1-RK.

I would like to password protect it (or some other mechanism) such that if it gets stolen, the thief cannot get hold of my data.

I cannot find any way of doing this in the manual or even in Windows XP for that matter.  Can anybody tell me if I can do this?  If yes, please let me know how.

Thanks in advance.
