Re: Cant eject usb drive ...please help

Try ending the explorer.exe process and starting it back up.

Re: Can't eject USB drive ..Please help

Win 7 64Bit;  FreeAgent Desk 1.5TB & 2.0TB - S/N: 2GEYKL4H & 2GEYWCSG

New Here, just letting you know what I found, I had the same problem with 2 "FreeAgent Desk" Ext drives.  I had a Disk Defragmenter program installed, "Smart Defrag" that conflicted with the disks, and whenever I wanted to eject/remove an ext drive using the "Safe To Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray a diaglog was displayed that the disks were being accessed. I had to Exit the defragmenter program from its sys tray icon and then I could get a "safe to remove hardware" notice for removing the ext disks.  Hope this helps some.

Re: Can't eject USB drive ..Please help

I noticed the other day an option to allow the drive to be removed without using the safely remove option. If in doubt turn the pc off and disconnect.
