Data destroyer programs

Hello,

Looks like I will have to be returning a 250gb FreeAgent to CircuitCity (have the extended warranty).  Does anybody know of any free data destroyer programs that work in Windows?  I have Darik's boot and nuke but it won't detect my usb external drive in DOS.

To ease my mind, I want to make sure that the possibility of anyone recovering any crucial data (if there is any on it) is non-existant.

Ironically this program is included in darik's boot and nuke.  Its called eraser, you can find it here:
 
 
I use this regularly to erase files instead of "recycling" them, I have the program do a multipass erase
