I first thought it was caused from the disk sleeping. So I changed the settings to not let the drive power down. I also turned off System Restore for the drive. The events went away. I noticed that the drive was getting pretty warm to the touch so I went back and changed the settings to let the drive power down. All was ok for a couple days. Now I'm seeing the warning show again. Time is averaging 1hr between warnings.
I checked the drive with the included software and it tests fine.

Is your "delay write" for that drive turned off ?
See the FAQ or google it.

The drive is optimized for quick removal. It's the same settings I have set for my other externals and I have no such warnings from them (and never have). I also have Windows Indexing turned off.
Need to get this figured out before I start moving stuff from other drives on to the FreeAgent.

Did you ever get this figured out? I'm having the same issue that started *after* all my files were copied to the go-flex desk (2 tb on usb2). This talk of power options is irrelevant to me as there are no power savings per hdd on my xp-pro & my settings are 'always on' anyway. The go-flex is set for quick removal & indexing is on (oops). Now that I said that; the errors began after deleting some & moving a couple of files? But that doesn't address your problem as you have indexing off?
