It seems that the HD will not hold it's connection any longer, should I replace the cord hat connects my laptop to the HD? Am I in danger of loosing the information stored on this drive as well? I am a pro photographer and have this drive backed up but am wondering if I should back up yet again? Every time I move the either the HD or the laptop I loose connection and the drive will pop up the autoplay option like I had just plugged it in again. When I first starting using this device it held it's connection really well even if I accidentally moved the laptop without grabbing the HD it would stay connected. Not sure where the poblem is located but I'm getting concerned that I could loose photos and/or hours of work in process. Maybe I should just a get a new one all together???
Please advise!

A loose connection could cause you to lose data.
If you lose the connection when the computer is writing to the hard drive then there is a chance that the drive file structure could be corrupted and the drive may become unreadable.
Replacement cables are cheap, certainly cheaper than a few hours work for a professional photographer.

^^ That sounds scary and like I'm just moments away from loosing all the photo's there. Think I'll just get a new one. Any suggestions for a tried and true external HD that is very reliable?
