Fair enough.
And I don't know why the errors have only just now started appearing. I can tell you from a lot of experience that programs that create files like these, our backup programs typically have a difficult time getting those files completely backed up. Stuff like QuickBooks, Outlook, Quicken, etc, usually I've told people to perform a manual "Export" action within that given software, into a specific folder, and THEN perform the backup of that folder. That's the most certain way.

I renamed the old backup files and created new ones in the same folder. The Seagate backup software now backs up the files without error (even though the names of the backup files hasn't changed).
The files were read-only but then other read-only files were backed up successfully.
I think we put this down to a 'file funny'. At least we know what to do next time it occurs.
Thanks for your help.

I would like to report that I am having exactly the same issues as described in this thread. This is not a one off funny file.
I have a MS Money backup file that is giving me the error below:
ERROR >>> H:\Money Backup\xxxxxxx.mbf Error (2013)
This did backup several times initially but then started to give me errors. I managed to fix this by telling MS money to use a different filename. That new filename was then backed up several times before it too stopped being backed up.
So now all my backups are failing because of this one file. This is a concern.

I have been getting error 2013 since an update. If I make 2 runs, (one with User limited privileges and one as Administartor, WinXP SP3) I can get it down to 1 error:
ERROR >>> C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Seagate\SeagateManager\ULC\log\Backup Log Error (2013)
Seems funny that Seagate Manager causes an error that prevents a successful backup to be indicated. I have been assuming that this was just an irritation, but seeing others having the same problem, I am concerned that my backups may be flawed. Is there a workaround yet? Is the error serious? Thanks.

Is this still an unresolved issue? I have identical symptoms using the SG 1.5 TB drive:
1st backup OK
after several backups the logs start showing ERROR 2013
As the days go by, the lists of files with the error keeps growing.

I just started receiving this error yesterday. These files have never had an error before and it's looking like it's at the directory level. These are all types of files - picture files, .js files, etc. They are backups for a website. I have over 890Gb free, so it's not a space issue. It's happened twice, once on an automated backup and I did it manually this morning and it failed again. Nothing was running so I'm not sure what the issue is. As they are backup files, nothing has changed. I'll keep looking here for a response, if anyone has one.
Thanks!

First time posting here. I have a 500GB external drive. Same as all the other posts here. Was working fine no issues, then over the last week or so started seeing this error everywhere. All different file types. Just put in a Case report, but from what I am reading here I am not too sure Seagate will respond. If any gets the fix please post it here so we can all share it.
Thanks.
