Hello Everyone,
Apologies if this question has been addressed before...if so, please direct me to the relevant thread, if you can.
I've been using a FreeAgent Desk for Mac 500GB ext. drive with no problems for several years. I noticed that it was getting close to full a week or so ago, and I think I got a tiny message about "no room to back up" last week. Today I tried to play iTunes and my library couldn't find the source (I store music on the ext. drive). Now I see that the ext. drive icon is gone from my desktop and there is no device listed in the finder. Nothing in Desk Utility either (only my Mac HD listed). I unplugged the ext. drive, waited, and replugged it in, but nothing happened on my iMac.
Not sure how to proceed...I don't mind scrubbing the ext. hard drive and starting fresh. Can anyone advise me?
Thanks, appreciate your help!

UPDATE: I inspected the ext. drive, got the numbers off the bottom...maybe that jostled the cords in some necessary way because the drive mounted normally on next boot up and all is operating correctly as usual. Who knows.
