FreeAgent Desk software run with "My Book" device?

I purchased the Seagate FreeAgent Desk 500 GB external drive that  came with Free Agent backup software.  I also own a My Book 500 GB external drive.  I would like to down load the FreeAgent Desk software and use it on My Book?  Does any one have an opinion on whether this will work?
